Progressive AFT Telecasts on FOX Sports Draw Record-Breaking Viewership

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 19, 2022) – Progressive American Flat Track is pleased to announce record-breaking viewership ratings for the opening two broadcasts in its new partnership with FOX Sports

Preliminary combined numbers for the Mission Volusia Half-Mile presented by Daytona Dodge and Mission Texas Half-Mile Presented by Roof Systems according to Nielsen:

  • 450,000 total viewers watched the opening two rounds of the Progressive AFT season, up 105% year-over-year compared with last season’s opening two rounds.
  • 366,000 households tuned in for this season’s first two rounds, up 117% year-over-year.
  • The key 18-34 demographic enjoyed a particularly dramatic increase with 54,000 viewers. That beat the previous high mark in terms of total 18-34 viewership for the opening two rounds of 40,000 dating back to 2018 by 35%.

The new multi-year agreement with FOX Sports, featuring highly desirable time slots and bolstered by an outstanding overall motorsports line-up on the network, promised to both deliver for the sport’s hardcore enthusiasts and introduce it to legions of new fans. The early returns demonstrate that potential is already being fulfilled with much more to come.
